Met Kurisaki-san in November and was thinking of carrying his tea on http://yunomi.us, my tea marketplace. Very good sencha.
-
There is definitely a lot of sencha being sold as gyokuro, especially here in the U.S. Thank you for sharing your experience. I really enjoyed this video :)

wow your fast, at replying back. So. your from Chicago?! I live in Chicago too. lol this is so cool to know. There's only one Mistuwa here in Chicago, so am assuming your talking about the one in Arlington Heights. Were having a Tohoku Fair next week. The 10- 27. You should come. We can even meet eachother. That would be cool.

You should ask about the green tea, It's probably authentic, but there are a number of different things to determine the quality of the tea. Where are you located? There's a Mitsuwa not too far from me in the Chicagoland area. The Japanese are the pickle masters!
-
hmmmm that makes me wonder if the green tea they sell at my job is really authetic green tea. I work at a Japanese Supermarket ( Mitsuwa) part time because my mom owns her own Tsukemono shop there. I do demo of different pickled radishes and sell them to customers. Its really fun learning about my heritage and also practicing my Japanese.
