I only recently started my worm farm, after it was given to me by a neighbour. This video shows Worms mating, and how I feed and maintain my can of worms containing red wigglers. What to feed and how. I made my own version of Purina Worm chow from scraps in my pantry. (recipe below) Recipe: Stale Corn flakes, oat meal, rice porridge, bread crumbs - (which contain wheat, flour and yeast,) all ground in a food processor, Maxi soy horse food (soy bean hulls) and Lucerne chaff (dried alfalfa) which is rich in protien and calcium, Raisins and dried fruit from old breakfast cereals, all bran, grind and mix! Ground food is easier for them to digest as they only have small mouths and stomachs. Also feed used tea leaves with their bags and coffee grounds along with the filters. Vegetable scraps, toilet rolls and other card board and shredded paper, hair from my hair brush, or the shower floor, and dog fur when I clip my poodles. Not included in video but they also get chicken droppings and straw from the coop, and horse manure from the paddocks and stables. They bed in shredded paper and peat moss soaked.
