Loved your video thank you for posting. I am sad to see you are feeding them Genetically Modified Organism coffee from Starbucks. I can understand how easy it is though.
-
How did you attached the lids to the bottom?
-
how much food can they eat? in other words, how often should you give them fresh food?
-
whats in the top tub?
-
After opening, I would have flipped the newspaper packaging over and then covered that with dirt and coffer grounds. Your method looks great! My worms love Starbucks coffee grounds and coir!

Awesome video, but two things.
1. Taping some paper to the container with the lines pre-drawn (using a ruler) would probably be easier than a ton of masking tape.
2. No idea who is holding the camera, but put it on a tripod or something else instead of handling it. All that moving was producing a ton of crackling due to either the placement of the microphone on the camera or the sensitivity of it or both. So, probably better to just sit it down and let it be. -
Do these earth worms work as bait for the sea? (salt water)
Thanks! -
Its Called "Coconut Coir " its a compressed coconut husk in a brick form that you may obtain from your local farmers mart or even K-Mart . Basically the coconut coir is there cause the worms love to nest in it .
-
I can't make out what you are calling it. it's the husk material right?
-
where do you get the coconut crap from?
-
good idea to presoak the cardboard. it contains small amount of bleach which will kill fungi which is what plants and worms like.

I too have similar worm bins similar in size and shape maybe slightly larger 24x17x7. I have 3 of these I can use stacked on top of each other . I started with about 1500 worms since april 2013 Im guessing I have maybe around 3-4 k by now. As the bottom bin seems close to finished I quit feeding in the bottom bin and only put food in the top bin. After a 1-2wks most worms will move into the top and the bottom can be harvested. Since the worms seem happy and I have no drainage and worms are staying in the bin I must be doing something right. My opinion is if moisture level is correct and food level proper it will be like this and the worms will be happy to stay where they are. Mine bins are inside no problems.
