Wild Medicine - Usnea Australis (aka old mans beard) Natural Antibiotics, SHTF
Here is a great way to find and identify usnea. It is said to be one of the most potent antibacterial, wild plants for humans that is found in nature. Here is a link to more information on Usnea - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usnea

Out Of focus ... Useless

This site gives the benefits, and the adverse side effects of Usnea. It warns that it can destroy your liver if taken over time, even a relative short period of time, or if eaten in great amounts. I love natural remedies, but I would suggest learning all you can about any herb before using.http://www.itmonline.org/arts/usnea.htm

This is a great vid you did and you did including the major points. Don't eat too much raw, but in emergency can boil a bunch up in 1 or two changes of water.
-
This is vid I did. I should have added more info, but informative. Mint isn't a real effective antibiotic but helps with some things and is antimicrobial, so can be used to treat water.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyRhXJluDgs

Too bad wikipedia is run by a bunch of ego driven individuals. Now wiki page on Usnea sucks, redone by some ahole that don't know his information and changed info on the page for the worse. The original wiki page talked about how Usnea has been used since before mid-evil times, and before Christ. Also talked about it being effective against 7 types of gram negative and gram positive bacteria, including the resistant kind, including staph infection. Wiki page don't even mention Usnea as being a "Potent antbiotic and antifungal" anymore, either the plant has changed it chemestry that it has had for thousands of years, or the moron on wiki changed the info and don't know what they hell he is talking about, I think it is the latter.
So either it was redone by some ego driven moron, or redone by someone in government that don't want you to know this info. -
