They risk your health, to keep their fucking profits up, fucking greedy sociopaths

Ill stay away from China fish but other than that fuck it. Obviously we are all alive today and some of us eat shitty food everyday. I cant help but read something about one type of food and be fearful of what it can do, where it came from, and how to search for an alternative. It seems like unless you raise it yourself you are ultimately fucked.

Totally agree with you. I don't trust the FDA. Anything unnatural added to foods is a big negative on my list. Look at how many preservatives, etc. are added to our food. Many people can't pronounce them let alone know what they are. It's buyer beware.

Carbon monoxide is an excellent solution to preserve the fish and it is a non toxic (in this application) and a 100% natural ingredient without harmful after effects. Only the guys in the factory might inhale too much and then they could die. What is always worrying are the ingredients that are not on the packaging eg. the use of fungicides, pesticides and antibiotics if fish is being held in concentrations that are too high for their own immune system. If the farmer deals with reasonable amounts of fish per pond and feeds them just about enough to optimize growth then this should not be an issue as disease fungi and parasites should have little chance to develop. The Carbon monoxide thing is absolutely a safe way of preserving fish. Nitrogen would be another but it is more expensive. If released in the air it eventually will become carbon dioxide which we breath in all day.

I would never eat farmed raised fish, ever.
-
Product of China?
-
This is the same thing they do to keep beef, pork, etc, looking fresh at the meat counter. Did you know that?
-
So pop has it to
-
Its not because its grown in a fish farm. its because its grown at a fish farm in china. I will not buy anything made in china.

Not defending the product but carbon monoxide is only dangerous if inhaled. And the small amount in the package might make you sick if you inhaled 10,000 packs worth. Open it and set it next to your C0 detector in your home. It detects amounts 1,000 less than are harmful.
I personally like tilapia but would not (knowingly) buy China grown for pollutant reasons. We raise thousands of tons of it right here in the U.S.
