White Sturgeon: Unique Aquaculture
Over any other fish, people are most likely to associate "salmon" with "aquaculture." But for nearly 15 years, Target Marine Hatcheries on the Sunshine Coast has been raising white sturgeon. Justin Henry, the general manager of this operation, says that while the females are raised to produce caviar, the males are harvested for their meat. This video was made in partnership with Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
