Where To Learn To Farm In Nigeria
► Subscribe to BattaBox on YouTube: http://goo.gl/4dgy2r Education is a priceless gift to an individual and to humanity, so on the back of the ugly socio-political and economic situation of Nigeria, the high population density; particularly the youth population and gross unemployment, a vision was hatched by the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan, South West Nigeria. The Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan developed a Centre where youths from all works of life can be trained in agriculture and entrepreneurial development with particular emphasis on fishery, computer operations, catering, vocational and entrepreneurial skills. Fully supported by the Archbishop Emeritus, Most Rev. Dr. Felix Alaba. The vision was established on a solid foundation. Oluponna Fish farming Education and Resource Foundation popularly known as 'OFFER Centre' is a non-governmental organization which started in 2006. It has touched the lives of so many youths across the length and breadth of Nigeria making them citizens that are more self reliant, creative, solving problems and contributing to the socio-economic development of their communities and the country at large. Its subsidiary, OFFER Centre Institute of Agriculture was approved in 2015 by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Ministry of Education awarded Ordinary National Diploma certificates for its programmes in Agriculture as an Innovative Enterprise Institute. OFFER Centre has attracted numerous scholarships for its students by virtue of its contributions. The Centre also enjoys a healthy relationship with local and International Agencies and Organisations in order to broaden her horizon so as to enhance the human capacity development of its beneficiaries. The continuity and sustainability of this vision is passionately shared by the current Archbishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Ojeleke Abegunrin. this is really a great thing to know that is going on in Nigeria 👍

I often say this but with Nigeria's climate and soil there should be miles and miles of productive farms in all directions. Especially in the South. If this was the case Nigeria would be exporting food instead of having to import it. There's no sense that people are complaining about high food prices there. Food should be cheap and abundant there.

Odunayo is fit!

Lmao, Exxon Mobil gave them that, I wonder what they gave Exxon Mobil in return. Nigerians need to learn how to do things themselves and stop waiting on foreigners to do things for you. Believe in yourselves for once people.

Learning to farm is priceless, especially when taught the roots such as )when( to grow how to grow, what to grow and the best/original location to grow i t. Our PLanet has seen much change with the spread of animals/seeds over its existence. It's only right that in a 2nd/3rd world country(especially a country on such rich soil) the people being retaught their basic forgotten/stolen knowledge are in tune & taught as close to the original fashion as possible regardless of who funds the schooling.))

Who was the genius behind this idea? I'm hopeful that this location will see a surplus in students causing a demand for another location to be opened...Also the wide open space, peacefulness and beautiful scenery is absolutely priceless...

Awesome! This idea should be well supported by our governments and other sponsors. I can see a lot of young adults benefiting from this type of learning. I would love to be a part of something like this in the near future. Way to go BattaBox for enlightening us with some educative programs. Looking forward to seeing more videos like this. And as always, it's nice to see my favorite presenter, Odunayo! Looking beautiful! Keep up the good work.

A center such as this should be built all over Nigeria and should be sponsored by the government. Agricultural machineries should be imported to the country and be thought how to use them. Not only planting of trees and fisheries
