China is the world’s largest producer of tea, and they really specialise in producing green tea there. Tea is actually produced all over the South-Eastern part of the country, and there is a huge range in the variety of teas which they make. In the Northern part of this area is where they make the traditional quality green teas. In the East is where they make the more speciality teas; the hand-made teas of different shapes - White Teas, OolongTeas. And then, down by the border with Vietnam is where you will find the Jasmine plantations, and there they bring tea from the rest of the country to naturally flavour with the Jasmine flowers. Then here in Yunnan, this is where they think that the tea plant actually originated from. There they have still got some wild tea trees, and there they specialise in large leaf black tea.
