Hahaha! Free range is only "BAD" because it cuts into your bottom line. LMAO, you said they live a "perfect" life! Battery farming is NOT a "perfect" life.

good

Chickens and ducks ALWAYS taste better when free ranged OUTSIDE in the SUN with grass and insects to eat. AND its the way they should be living there lives.

Domestic ducks should NOT be released into the wild. That is not what we have developed them for, and they would not be able to survive very long unlike their wild cousins. It would be just like releasing you cat or dog, your family pet, some will live but most will die or seriously upset the natural food chain.

what do you do when the ducks stop laying, please dont kill them relese them.

I have 3 ducks who lay eggs in a little shelter I built on my property. They free range when they want, but do like to stay safe in their little house. I adore them, and they come to the back door and beg for snacks. They give me each an egg a day... and they are so delicious. I trade 12 a week to a local inn who puts them on their appetizer menu. They keep my garden free from bugs and give me fertilizer. Its a great mutual relationship. They love my cats too.

And you didn't or haven't answered the question, that Jody asked. What happens to the Male ducks after sexing ??????? .

All the problems you raise about keeping Ducks out side,Foxes,Illness etc, etc, well these things are all of your own making Ducks would not live in such large numbers that you are raising them in . If you were being completely honest you would say these options are nothing to do with the Ducks- but only to do with your over head costs and profit margins. It is not natural to eat any animal and these birds are not a commodity to do as you so wish .
