Visit to a Rare Wasabi Farm
There are only 4 Wasabi farms in North America. The Wasabi plant is difficult to grow commercially, and because of its value, these farms tend to be hidden from public view. Join us as we visit a Wasabi farm in Oregon, whose only commercial crop are two varieties of Wasabi: Daruma and Mazuma. If the rhizome goes above the ground its technically a stem. Rhizomes are underground stems.

Opinel FTW
-
can you replant the root sections to give you some added time on growth?
-
Rhizoms are not being used in Japan. Japanese use only the wasabi stems. The rhizomes are being exported to gaijin.

I live so close to this place and had no idea. I thought the background looked really familiar. I freaking pass this place almost once a week and never knew what I was looking at.
