inconclusive video..looks like excellent village scale practice myself as have been an observer in fisheries in Tasmania..stringent pathogen analysis of imported stock from major suppliers from region indicates good practice.. comparable rate of flow to Amazon and Congo..wild caught ? ..an aesthetic,an unsustainable snobbery unaffordable with 7 billion people

What a waste of time.
-
what exactly is the point of this video? I did not even see a fish. All I saw was a shitty video shot on a bumpy ride and in a windy place with NO POINT AT ALL. Idiots!!
-
I love fish, I can it fish everyday depends what type of fish.... Basa fish is the smelliest fish I've ever tried no taste at all and watery. shit fish
-
Shoprite is selling these Vietnam fish frozen for very cheep in NYS. Are they safe?
-
I have no idea why anyone would have a problem with this pond. It looks positively great compared to the conditions in which you find US chicken, pork, etc. You people are utterly insane.
-
????? I wonder if any of you have seen a fish pond. What you expected. Crystal clear waters. Actually many of you go to KFC. Have you seen a chicken farm? Hormone fed chickens locked in a cage never seen sunlight. They don't even look like chicken cause they don't have any feathers.popcorn Chicken, processed in a big mincemeater, bones, organs, meat.... Enjoy
Or the pork is more clean?? Eating and living in their own excrements?

Basa sold in Australia comes from large, clean fish farms built especially for export to the West. The crappy dirty little operations that pop up in videos are for local consumption only. Basa is now one of the most popular fish in Australia, the UK and Canada and the thousands of tonnes required would not be met by those little dodgy farms, nor would reputable importers who supply our supermarkets touch fish from those sources.

They look fine to me.

Good to know, just purchased some from Save On Foods in British Columbia, saw later it was a product of Vietnam, looked a little deeper, and put the rest in the garbage. Never again will I eat this crap, and shame on Save On foods for selling this garbage.

Get educated. Our imported fish is 100% tested to stringent standards. The Vietnamese are working to maintain and increase standards of sustainability and health stringency. This is not where our basa fish come from. Competitors like to spread misinformation.

Hasn't anyone seen a Fish pond before. These look fine. The most important thing is what they feed the Fish and here it looks like protein pellets. I love the fish, as it is right under grouper..
-
thank you so much for the fishies my Vietnamese friends! They are very yummy! :D
-
basa=now the cheapest meat in the store in Regina, Canada. We have giant pork beef and chicken factories and imported fish is now the cheapest here??? What is going on? I mean the fish is tasty, I love it but I feel guilty getting such efficient protein from the world most renewable resource. Is everyone eating fish now? I'm also a chef btw who lived off pizza for 20 years. Fish is such a beautiful relief to me.

It's all propaganda.....Has anyone heard of someone getting sick from eating Swai yet in the US? Has there been a recall. Has it been called unsafe? The CFA'S in the United States are charging nearly $7.95 a pound for catfish while Swai can be as little as $2.79 per pound. So who do you think is making all the stink? I am a professional chef and use Swai and Basa all the time. Better than catfish and nearly a 1/4 of the cost of catfish.

The waters where the fish are kept are full of sewage and runoff from the surronding factories. Less that 2 percent of the fish shipped to USA are inspected.
-
I have to say, that It is a nice fish to eat, crumb and even cook in the oven. But after watching this it's the last time I buy it.
-
I had Basa for dinner tonight. Now i feel sick.
-
@tvnguyen1976 Not as sick as you would if you ate that fucking shite

Basa = veitnamese catfish grown in cages under house boats on the mekong delta, one of the worlds most poluted water ways, they have to feed the fish antibiotics because they die too fast, these fish are grown in sewage.. read about it.
