Wetherbee in 1892, this exquisite Queen Anne Victorian is an historic treasure of Waltham, Massachusetts.  Mr. Wetherbee initially worked with the E.W. Wetherbee dial manufacturer before becoming the foreman for the American Waltham Watch Company.  He resided in the home until 1915.  The home offers a view of the prosperous late 19th Century south side of Waltham courtesy of "the watch".   Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, the home is appreciated as an elaborate example of Queen Anne style homes.  Distinct features include the home's enchanting, richly ornamented Italianate porch with chamfered posts, irregular form, large front door flanked by stained glass arched windows and its conically capped turret tower.   As documented by HGTV’s Restore America, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkrUtz6Boqg, the home underwent an extensive restoration in the late 1990's.  Many aspects of the exterior were carefully and painstakingly repaired and restored and the home was painted with a four color paint scheme consisting of 3 shades of green on the clapboards and shingles and a cranberry accent to put emphasis on the fine architectural details. Inside, the flooring was restored where possible but otherwise replaced, walls and ceilings were re-plastered, era-relevant stain glass windows were carefully selected and installed and aspects of the home were returned to its original layout.   Upon entering the home you are greeted by an impressive and inviting foyer with soaring ceilings and natural woodwork abound and also an extraordinary turned staircase, both areas with Lincrusta style dado coverings.
