VAN CLIBURN ""HONOREE"" - (COMPLETE) 24th KENNEDY CENTER HONORS, 2001 (93)
MESSAGE TO VIEWERS: I am sad to say that several people have recently downloaded and re-posted most of my videos, using my exact same titles. The descriptions are either only partially shown, altered, or completely left out! These copied videos often have different thumbnail pictures but sometimes they're the same. I have spent hundreds of hours preparing and uploading these videos and it is VERY UPSETTING & DISCOURAGING to discover this RAMPANT COPYING! I would appreciate it very much if you would avoid ay videos posted by "All Star Party" or "Kirdie Ferdin". Thanks to all of you for your views of my originally posted videos and your subscriptions to my channel. Sincerely, Violet Pearl. 4-17-2015 About this video: WALTER CRONKITE opens the ceremony. CONDOLEEZZA RICE introduces honoree VAN CLIBURN (some of you may not know that Condoleezza is an accomplished pianist herself). RENEE FLEMING sings "In the Silence of the Mysterious Night" by Rachmaninoff, accompanied by OLGA KERN on piano (winner of the 2000 Van Cliburn Piano Competition). The other honorees this evening are Julie Andrews, Quincy Jones, Jack Nicholson, and Luciano Pavarotti. I am posting the other honorees separately.

Imagine if Cliburn, Pavarotti and Julie Andrewsi had decided to make an album together produced by Quincy Jones......
-
Cliburn did 11 hours a day practice? WTF?
-
OMG, the sheer talent in the line up is frightening.
-
Instead of wasting his time at this useless nonsense of an event . . . maybe Van Cliburn could have finished work on the piano concerto he always talked about writing (and never did).

Thank you, Violet. This is exceptional, both the honorees and your effort. Copying on the web cannot be avoided, however, the descriptions are important and they are why your uploads are "the real thing".
