Vaal Dam sewage pollution. Human Health Risk. Oranjeville

24 August 2015 - We have uploaded this video which was taken at the Oranjeville sewage plant where sewage is being diverted through a pipe that comes from the sewage plant, into the Vaal Dam, Gauteng's drinking water source. It is clear from the video that this is untreated human sewage which can pose a threat of cholera, typhoid, cryptosporidium and giardia infections, a human health risk. Although these matters are addressed at the Vaal Dam Reservoir Water Forum this pollution and non compliant effluent is ongoing and you can actually see the extent of the pollution in this video. This ongoing sewage pollution is unacceptable and we request that you send an email to the following persons at the Metsimaholo Municipality requesting that this matter be resolved on an urgent basis.
