US cotton industry subsidies may be cut
US government subsidies have been blamed for affecting the livelihoods of farmers in the developing world by pushing prices down. But it could be about to change with a new bill that will cut financial aid for US farmers. Al Jazeera's Andy Gallacher reports from Mississippi.

Well cotton industry in Australia is profitable and we have a higher cost base then that of the US.
Simple matter of fact is the US agricultural industry is lazy and poorly managed. There is no need for the subsidies, If Australia can compete without them and still make a dollar then so can the US.
Would love to see the US subsidies stop, The over production of cotton their would be shifted to more developing nations, And being patriotic I'd be glad to see Australia become the top exporter globally (Currently ranked 2nd behind the US). -
