Urban shrimp fishing in Taiwan.
With one of the biggest fishing industries in the world, Taiwan has historically had strong ties to seafood. But instead of going out to sea on boats, or even sitting on the edge of rivers or piers like their ancestors did, many Taiwanese city dwellers are now fishing for shrimp from indoor pools in restaurants that let them catch their own meal and cook it themselves. This is far from just a way to grab a bite - it's a popular place for families and friends to gather, or office workers to relax at the end of a long week. The BBC's Cindy Sui visited one of these places and gave indoor shrimp fishing a try. The Close-up series focuses on aspects of life in countries and cities around the world. What may seem ordinary and familiar to the people who live there can be surprising to those who don't. Video By: BBC News

All haters are missing the point. They are relaxing on a Saturday afternoon. RELAXING. Yeah 10 Dollars an hour, but at least it is not staring into a computer screen at a Internet cafe/at home or doing any other number of drugs/drinking or anti social behavior stuff. I for one think this is great, and indoor fishing could benefit many other people, no matter what country etc they live it.
The thrill of catching something (even as little as a prawn) sends emphoric chemicals to the brain and makes us happy! Peace be with you all, and I hope happyiness and love with you every day and all days! -
There catching fucking crawfish that's no fucking shrimp

Here in the states we throw a cast net at a time and catch dozens at a time. We also know how to actually cook them.

So @10min 1 shrimp. $10/hr that's 6 shrimp an hour. That's more expensive than Europe or north america, ouch. People must do it just for the fun of it.
