Urban Permaculture Farming Experience with Novella Carpenter

1. I love the story but I got a problem with the glorification. YOU LIVE IN THE GHETTO - SAY IT!!! G - H - E - T - T - O! Say you live with poor Black People you bourgeois YUPPY. It's a good think you were not living during the American Great Depression, you would be getting your ass kicked by Blacks, Italians, Mexicans, Native American, Germans, poor Whites and every other ethnic racial group getting off the boat... with their goats, chickens, pigs, geese, and every other type of live stock that you for your Grandmother raised!!! Urban farming is not new!!! It's just come back with a vengeance because folks in the screwed up country that we call the United States are BROKE. My Father (1939) farmed in the city! My Grandfather (1914) farmed in the city! My little Sister (1972) farmed in the city! And you know what - I'm (1967) farming in the city in the ghetto. Doin' what I do with average everyday Black People in America. See how easy I just write this out? Get over yourself and tell people you got some cheap property in the ghetto and are taking advantage of them and continuing the American tradition of extorting Black Americans and enjoy thinking your white ass weighs a ton!
2. she totally got the wrong breed of pig. should have got a meat kune kune or guinea hog. plus with the goats dealing with excess milk best get a pig

5. Loved it!  I love creative risk takers who buck the system and live life on their on terms. Thanks for being such an inspiration to the aspiring homesteaders. I would love to see Oaklanders embracing this & getting high on greens instead of stoking the drug dealers & living on Doritoes....we all need to do this! :)
