I guarantee all of you, that this current trend will be over soon and I will boycott every fish store in my area for as long as it takes lol. This New Fish Arrival was a real score. I picked up some real beautiful fish at bargain basement prices. Lately I've had a passion for African Peacock Cichlids and Haps and will possibly designate a tank just for them in the near future. Recently, I've picked up many wild caught and farm raised fish and I've been very impressed lately with the peacocks coming from Asia. The quality and prices have become so good, that all I can see is that their demand and popularity will continue to grow. The issue with many Asian raised cichlids are their origins. Many of these fish that we purchase have either been line bred or hybridized. The demand for pure stock will always remain high and with avenues like Youtube, I actually feel the demand for pure will rise. If Asian Fish Farms can recognize the demand for pure specimens, the farms in Africa and Florida will have a real problem competing.
