During harvesting of paddy, the plants are cut leaving 6 inches from the root and all the dreid plants are kept in one directio in order to enable easy collection. After 2 days of drying the plants are tied in bundles and taken to the harvesting yard. The size of the bundles should be small for easier handling during manual seed removal process.
