Tour of modern, expanding dairies in China
In July, 2013 I had an opportunity of visit 5 large dairy farms in China. The dairy industry is expanding rapidly and are borrowing a lot of technology from the U.S. The farms ranged in size from 500 to 10,000 cows plus replacements with 305 day milk production up to 22,000 lb. All these farms have anaerobic digestion, most imported alfalfa hay from the U.S.

Some people would say that this is animal cruelty and that it needs to be stopped. Seriously, these cows are well feed and cared for by the workers! The thing is that these cows are treated better than animals in a crappy PETA shelter.

local producer need to produce at least 30% food products for sustainable area ag. my opt. is mega farm ruin life of cow, ruin quality of dairy. good life good milk. happy healthy people and thriving economny.

land o lakes was out of room at the factory because the price of milk went up so they gave us $11 a gallon then we had to bring it home and put it in our liquid manure pit

No wonder the price of milk has dropped from the highs. Interesting that they're importing hay. You wouldn't want to import weed seeds in that.

Them cows don't get to live like our cattle.I bet they have very low yield per cow.Unless the feend and no moving around makes it better.
