This country isn't just carbon neutral — it's carbon negative | Tshering Tobgay
Deep in the Himalayas, on the border between China and India, lies the Kingdom of Bhutan, which has pledged to remain carbon neutral for all time. In this illuminating talk, Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay shares his country's mission to put happiness before economic growth and set a world standard for environmental preservation. Just realized my country could do just as much if not more. Nepal is similar when it comes to geography, size, diversity, and even location. The only difference; we can't wait around for great leaders. We don't have that good fortune. We people should rise above corrupt government and do what is good for our country, our environment.

Bhutan looks so nice and peaceful on the surface but hidden beneath the surface is their dark history. The world does not know about the things that got swept under the carpet. The Ethnic Cleansing that happened in Bhutan. All Bhutanese with Nepalese ethnic background got forced out of the country and made to live the rest of their lives as refugees. That's coercive and systematic population control. Much like what Hitler did to the Jews except that in the case, they didn't gas them.

So basically what he is asking for is outside money to fund their utopian dream, because the system they are running is unsustainable. They are carbon negative now because they have a tiny population and no industry. However they have flooded some of these pristine valleys to build Hydro schemes to sell electricity to India. Nearly everything else they import. Health care is free but average life expectancy is 62 years. So what standard is this healthcare? No doubt only a small portion of the population have automobiles with a GDP per capita of 7000 USD. So only way they will stay carbon negative is if the population stays poor, and rural.

So amazing, Bhutanese ppl should be proud of what they have achieved! Keep up the good work, and thank you for taking care of our planet while everybody else is thinking about money and power.

We do this not for future but for now- present moment, for the air we breathe everyday now

The "Democracy and the constitution" is the elephant's teeth of Bhutan. The ethnic cleansing policy of Bhutan adopted since 31 December 1958 mid-night imposed law and later citizen act of 1985 can clearly describe, what the Government of Bhutan is?
