The Worst Job In New York: Immigrant America

But for some reason the government doesn't give dairy farms a way to recruit foreign workers legally, so most feel forced to hire illegal immigrants. This makes the farms and their workers easy targets for immigration authorities looking to fill deportation quotas. We went to upstate New York to try to understand the cat and mouse game going on between dairy farms and immigration authorities. We found a lot of wasted taxpayer money, racial profiling, and a broken system that unnecessarily treats family farmers and hardworking immigrants like criminals. Something went wrong years ago. If they want americans to work there they will have to pay up to 30, 40 an hour. Milk will have to double or triple in price same with vegetables.

i have been at a dairy farm and pushed them into the milking stations and so you get stepped on poop splatters on me and kick even-tempered little calf's kick you it's hard work the calves and cows need lots of things it more complicated in winter

The brutal functionalist logic of this whole piece is: they are human resources which can contribute to the US success story.
America is not about giving immigrants the opportunity to live their dreams, but sees in them opportunities for its program of enrichment and capitalist growth. In spite of that, many immigrants take pride in being useful for the society (“We do the jobs that nobody else will do!”). They simply neglect the fact that their usefulness is not about doing the jobs nobody else will do, but doing jobs at such low wages and in such miserable working conditions that business people make a lot of money from this cheap labor. -
Illegal immigrants are not good for any country. US is the only country that people can go to the easiest. But it's also true that legals & citizens are not willing to work hard jobs because they have a choice. But I think Trump is reasonable. All these deportations is still under Obama. But who Trump wants deported are those draining the economy. I think illegal immigrants who are holding jobs i.e. farming and other hard to find worker jobs should be under skilled labor and should be allowed to work under different immigration laws with the potential of becoming legal citizens once proven to have clean records. Maybe a good politician can help to bring attention to this matter. There has to be a solution if the matter is good for the economy.
