Do NOT eat the plant if you are not sure..., plantain is very often mistaken with FOXGLOVE. a VERY poisonous plant. poisonous enough to kill you. please be careful.

The leaves are delicious in a Spring salad with clover, chickweed, and Miner's lettuce.

I heard that the stringy parts of it can be used as a suture and/or as fishing line.

Plantain is psyllium.. The wide leaf type is just a good..

Absolutely brilliant!!! One of my favorite videos!!! Thank you !!!

I wonder if the sprouts are a super food like some other sprouted seeds/grains?
-
Thank you for the beautiful video. I love how you are showing the leaf as the example of your topic throughout your presentation.
If possible, please change your title to include that you are talking about Plantago lancealata (I may have mispelled that but you know I mean to not imply it is Plantago major.) -
I know they are aggressive weeds in the yard.(Virginia) My wife is from the Andes, and mentioned to me the healing advantages of plantain. Specifically for skin and scalp ailments! we have several plants we are letting grow amok in the garden and I'm fertilizing them as well. I will use a bullet extractor to make a liquid mush that we can try and experiment with freezing!

Great stuff. Really enjoyed that, nice presentation. I'm getting more into foraging and eating and using wild herbs and foods, and found your channel. I've subbed as well, because it's a subject I've long been interested in, great channel thanks.

Is plaintain root of any value...no one seems to know the answer...anybody out there???

I found out about the stinging nettle thing quite by accident. I accidentally grabbed a handful after forgetting to put on my gloves, then started grabbing bunches of leaves from every plant I could see and grinding them to paste on tree bark and using that on my hand. The plantain was the first thing that worked.
-
your plantain is different from the ones here in north America don't know what sav lon is!!
-
