This is a film clip of a band formed for one night only to record music made with a grapevine. The Grapevine Trio consisting of Drums (Sarah McEwan), Saxophone (Jared Bianchini) and Vic McEwan playing a Grapevine was created as part of the project Yenda Rain (www.yendarain.com) which is a project working with the community of Yenda exploring the consequences of the major flood events of 2012. This is one of many things made with local community members during Vic McEwan's time as Artist In Residence in Yenda NSW (Museums and Galleries NSW in partnership with Griffith Regional Art Gallery). This video continues Vic's exploration of extracting poetry and wonder from practical items. In this case, making music from a grapevine at a functioning vineyard. Lighting by Cheyne Halloran and video by Darrin Baker. This video was made possible Via The Australia Council for the Arts Art Start program of which Vic McEwan was a recipient of in 2013. www.yendarain.com www.vicmcewan.com www.cadfactory.com.au
