Agriculture to this day is considered the backbone of the kenyan economy. Modernizing the sector however is considered as the surest way of improving the sectors output. This holds true for moses and susan muturi who are taking their old dairy business to new heights. On this week’s edition of the frontier, Phillip Keitany takes us through their journey which started with 11 cows to what has become a thriving dairy farm. I am so happy for this successful venture. I wish to contact the farmer for some advice with my low milk production. I have tried using very expensive breeds, using the best chaff cutter to minimize the size of the feed and adding up to 3.5kg of feed supplements from Unga Limited, regular deworming, a clean and soft sleeping shed and an open air resting shed, feeding my young calves on milk for lengthy periods and letting an expectant heifer rest 3 months to delivery and yet I only receive 5-8 litters of milk. Kindly help me out. I live in Kenol, Kabati and my number is +254700599741 and I will be so grateful.
