where is the location pliz. I also need to be trained more about daily farming. love it .

Reidbow Dairy still operating today??

I was at this farm the other day. One of the silos was in the process of being disassembled. apparently the future didn't last very long.
-
Holy shit silo, have never seen this before
-
my opinion the farm of the future is cows on pasture. they are their own auto feeders and fertilizers. Sure a pasture only diet can lower milk production but if you look at the prices of milk, making more of it is not the problem. Its making it with less cost.

looks good

This is actually the farm of the past :D

where are they located at

The Daracel Dairy Concept using the Harvestor { CST Industries} feeding system and the Biogas generator round off the environmental issues needed for the Daracel Dairy Concept.

If you are going to automate it....Why not add in a automated feeding system that will mix, carry and feed the cows on its own? I have seen one, I think it was called a trilet? The guy that sold me my combine had one... It could feed groups the same tmr or a individual TMR for every cow in his barn. You combine this with a system like that and I think it would attract more large farms. A farm near me has two guys feeding full time plus another loading their mixer wagons and loading a bale chopper to shred the hay during the day. Think of the costs that a automated feed system would offset. When figuring if the cost is "justifiable". Two tractors and two TMR mixers, a loader and 3 men, I wouldn't want that bill. I bought a farm this spring, but I only want to milk 80-100 cows at the most, so this is only a dream for me. The guy that showed me his bought it to replace a hired man, plus he was in his 70s and said he had gotten tired of using feed carts.

This is a good system but it is not a total system as the guy says, had it been a total system it would have used all the dairy waste as biogas to fuel the place.

awesome video

Did you fix the problem of spoilage, every harvestore built in our area has been converted due to excessive spoilage due to exposer to air
-
Didn,t know Harvestores were still being built. We had two built in the early 70"s and now only have one. We put all silage in bunkers, tore down one silo and store soybeans in the other due to the fact that the roofs were rusted through and the Goliath unloaders were wornout past repair and extreamly expensive to replace. We feed around 1300 head of beef cattle alfalfa and corn silage. We also feed around 3000 head of hogs per year and the Slurrystor system looks interesting.I wonder how it holds up to hog manure.
