We wanted to cross off a lot of things on this backpacking adventure on the other side of the world and did our best to make sure that we did! Taking care of elephants, playing with baby tigers and swimming and scuba diving with manta rays. It's a tough life, but someone's gotta live it!!! Come along for the ride as we share with you our 5 weeks of adventures from July-August 2014. We traveled to (in this order) Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Kata Noi, Ao Nang, Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Bali, and Tokyo with a couple of pitstops along the way. Highlights were getting to the top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore (for free), the Garden's By the Bay in Singapore, running in Kata Noi, scuba diving in Koh Tao with New Way Diving, Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai, caring for elephants at Patara Elephant Farm in Chiang Mai (Elephant rehabilitation centre), Basil's Cooking School in Chiang Mai (best food!), staying with a local family in Ubud, Bali, and diving in Bali with Joe's Gone Diving (first class dive shop)! We want to thank a few of the friends we made along the way: New Way Diving in Koh Tao, Thailand (especially Thom, Mary Anne and Javi), Joe's Gone Diving in Sanur, Bali (especially Medwin), our good friend Wayan and his family in Ubud, Bali, who opened their home to us, fed us the most amazing food (Babi Guling and sambal) and showed us overwhelming Balinese hospitality. We also send big hugs out to everyone we met along the way and those who have invited us to reconnect with them around the world. Careful, you might hear from us really soon!!! All videos shot on the GoPro Hero 3 Black. No lens filter. Halfway into the trip we bought some anti-fog sticks which really helped with all of the Southeast Asian humidity (highly recommend). Selfie stick broke after diving in Bali, hence the hand-held shots in Tokyo. P.S. This was our first time in Southeast Asia. And first time editing with Final Cut X (I am not very fond of GoPro editor). We are not professional film makers or editors. Just a couple who love to travel and live life to the fullest! We apologize for the shaky shots and amateurish look of the video. Most of the time we were so enamoured with our surroundings that we didn't focus too much on the video-making!
