The AGRA Green Revolution story- Rwanda

The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) exists to trigger a green revolution in Africa. At AGRA we believe that smallholder farmers have the key unlocking food security in Africa. We thrive in partnerships that ensure our initiatives are sustainable and responsive to the needs of our target audience, the smallholder farmers in Africa. We have three goals that we are working to achieve by 2020 as follows: Reduce Food and Nutrition insecurity by 50% in at least 20 countries; Double the income of 20 million smallholder families; and Move at least 30 countries onto a pathway leading to a Sustainable Green revolution that fits local needs and realities. Our investment in Rwanda is already bearing fruits; farmers have been organized and through their farmer cooperatives they can see the benefits. This video documents the successes realized by smallholder farmers and farmer organizations in Rwanda 3 years after embracing our initiatives.
