The Abalone Farm, Cayucos, CA

The Abalone Farm, north of Cayucos, California, grows Ocean Rose Abalone in a labor- and energy-intense 4-year process. A large colony of swallows found a home under the eave of a barn on the farm. The hands holding the small abalone are those of Billie Turner of Cambria.
