Here's 4 of my 5 "TeaCup" pigs parading in front of the camera as I toss them peanuts. Each of them was as tiny as any of the pigs advertised as "Micro-Mini", TeaCup" or any of the other names the breeders come up with. Anyone that's been a part of the pet pig community for any length of time knows there is no such thing as an older "TeaCup" pig. Just like kittens grow up to be cats and puppies grow up to be dogs, piglets grow up to be pigs. Potbelly pigs are miniature pigs because they are much smaller than the full sized farm pigs. Although they are several hundred pounds smaller than the larger farm pigs, they still usually reach a weight of well over 100 pounds. All my pigs over 3 years old weigh more than 150 pounds. Pigs certainly aren't the right pet for the average person. They are quite different than a cat or a dog. For the right person in the right circumstances they are pretty amazing though. My 5 live in my house and go to work with me each weekday and to the park on the weekends. The 2 younger ones even sleep on my waterbed. For me, having pet pigs works out very well. If you're interested in getting a pig, please research it first. Many areas prohibit. It's very important to find the zoning laws for your address. Next thing is to look for pig rescue sanctuaries. They are all over the United States and most are overflowing with pigs. www.teacuppig.info is a good place to start your research.
