Tea Estate Tractor in India - Mahindra IH B-275
This is one of the good old tractors used in the tea estates in South India. Mahindra, today the world's number one tractor manufacturer in terms of volumes, has started its tractor business in the 1960s in cooperation with International Harvester, building licensed tractors, before they created their own models. The old tractors were sold as Mahindras but had still the IH sign on the front. This model is an IH B-275 - and special thanks to Youtuber saravananknpc for telling me the details! Since it is sometimes a little bit cold and wet in the tea estates, such tractors have usually all a nice cabin. Mahindra begann übrigens das Traktorengeschäft in den 1960ern mit Lizenzbauten, heute ist die Firma führender Traktorenhersteller weltweit (was die Stückzahl angeht). Im Gegensatz zu "normalen" Treckern in Indien haben die in den Teeplantagen eingesetzten Traktoren schon von jeher meist ein Fahrerhäuschen - ist ja auch gemütlicher ... ;-)

Wow, thanks a lot for Your valuable comment! It lead me to do some more researches, and I found really interesting details about both the companies International Harvester as well as Mahindra. I have meanwhile rewritten the video description ... ;-)

This is International B-275 (IH). 1984 after Name changed to MAHINDRA.
