https://www.baumhedlundlaw.com/toxic-tort-law/monsanto-roundup-lawsuit/ Does exposure to Roundup cause cancer? On April 14, 2016, Monsanto Roundup lawyer R. Brent Wisner and his client Teri McCall were invited to discuss this question and ongoing Monsanto legal cases on KFCF’s ‘Down in the Valley’ radio show, hosted by Lloyd Carter. The interview touches on a variety of topics related to the growing number of Monsanto Roundup lawsuits, including the World Health Organization (WHO) report last year, which classified glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup weed killer, as a “probable human carcinogen.” In the KFCF interview, Teri McCall discusses why she decided to file a Monsanto Roundup lawsuit after the death of her husband, Jack McCall. Jack was a Vietnam veteran and a prominent farmer in Cambria, California. In September of 2015, he went to the hospital to get an opinion on swollen lymph nodes in his neck. That very day in the hospital, a doctor delivered the news that the swelling in his neck was caused by anaplastic large cell lymphoma (or ALCL), a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. On Christmas Eve, roughly three months after his initial diagnosis, Jack McCall suffered a severe stroke due to complications from his cancer treatments. He died two days later. “There are definitely a lot of people out there that have been negatively affected by this herbicide,” says McCall. “Jack never smoked, he ate well. His uncle lived to be almost 100. I assumed that my husband was going to be one of those people that lived a long life…” The Monsanto Roundup lawsuit claims that Jack McCall would never have used Roundup on his farm if Monsanto had warned consumers about the health dangers associated with glyphosate. Instead, Monsanto marketed Roundup as “safer than table salt” and “practically nontoxic.” McCall says she hopes that her Monsanto Roundup lawsuit will raise awareness on the reported link between cancer and Roundup and “prevent other people from suffering the same fate as my husband.” Let’s Connect!
