Natural Sound A pig weighing 961 kilos has won Taiwan's fattest pig contest, making it the biggest on the island for 200 years. Farmer Chen Cheng Sung raised the monster porker in his village. But after a ceremony the one-and-a-half year old pig was slaughtered to be eaten by Chen's family and friends. It took nearly 20 men to lift the huge pig onto a truck for the drive from farmer Chen Cheng Sung's village to a temple to be blessed. Raising a pig in rural Taiwan is a popular pastime. Cheng's was one of the laziest ever seen -- after munching on leftover food during its 18 months alive it became so fat it couldn't walk. After endless meals it would take a bath, listen to some soothing country music and then have a nap. It finally weighed in at a colossal 961 kilos -- making it the fattest pig on the island for 200 years. But the pig's huge proportions didn't save its bacon. After a suitable ceremony at the temple it was slaughtered -- and then eaten by Cheng's family and friends.
