Stay Harvesting Rice!
The 2016 California Rice Harvest depends on a smooth operation in order to finish in a timely manner. To keep the harvesters cutting rice a daily maintenance of the machines and equipment must be executed. This involves: -checking both engine and hydraulic oil -greasing bearings and adjustments -lubing the chains ...and much, much more! Thanks for watching and please SUBSCRIBE!

i am very glad i found this very well put together channel because i have a few questions about rice..so i hope you don't mind.
ok so here come the questions
1. you mentioned you grow calrose rice... how long goes calrose take to grow? (start to finish)
2.do you think that calrose could possibly be grown (if its doesn't take too long to grow) on the prairies in canada? (mostly manitoba/saskatchewan area) its a pretty short growing season usually starts from may ISH to about oct/nov depending on if there is frost/snow, it CAN get into the 80s/90s in the summer time and in some areas (where i am looking to move eventfully) there are alot of natural marshes and stuff already there which i am assuming what you need because you have to flood the paddies
3. can you feed the rice straw to cows/horses/goats as a food source since it looks pretty green when you combine it
4. for a totally unrelated question, what are the California rice brands (like what are they named when they are sold) so i know when i am going to the store that i am buying and supporting American farmed rice here in canada to eat
those are the ones i am just going to ask right now since i am not sure if you will have time to answer
thanks -
Another great video Matt! I was wondering when you were going to inform your viewing public about the evils of itchy rice straw and chaff!
