SRI 2012 - PHILIPPINES
This System Rice Intensification video documentation was demonstrated year 2010 during wet cropping season and was published year 2012. This demonstration was actually i am the actual farmer and cultivator based on my own effort and study on this very interesting, helpful, and innovative method in farming activities. Satisfaction can only conclude and justify the things that never ever try unless yourself can do this.

i am very much interested in learning this method. If only you can give us some inputs about everything. guide on seedbed preparation, the weeding process(including guide for rotary weeder making) , when do you need to start weeding the farm, the application of organic fertilizers and everything about SRI. From Pangasinan here.

katatapos lang namin magtanim ng palay na SRI method ang sinunsunod.... sa ngayon ay pagpuksa sa damo ang aming kailangang gawin,, masaya ako habang pinagmamasdan ko ang mga tig iisang seedlings ng palay sa bawat hill,,,,, napansin ko na may mga tillirs ng sumusulpot sa bawat puno sa loob ng isang linggo,,,, kaya malakas ang loob ko na aundin ang SRI method.

may maganda matututunan d2 na sabi ng nagpost e hindi need inorganic fertilizer kundi organic dapat gamitin, pero hindi pa din ito ideal method ng pagtatanim kase manu manu pa din yung pagtatanim yung iba bansa mechanical rice transplanter na gamit kaya isa ektarya mo isa oras lng tapos na taniman, samantala ito manu manu pa dinpagtatanim isa ektarya aabutin ng isa o dalawang araw tapos mangangailangan ka pa ng hindi bababa ng sampu tao sa pagtatanim makaluma pa din ito paraan nya ng pagtatanim saka sa problema sa peste ng rice, meron ka lng isang platoon ng army ducks o 21 army ducks o itiks lng kailangan tapos peste ng palayan mo pati kuhol sa rice field mo limas hindi na kailangan yung sinasabi dito na maglagay ng pesticides tsk tsk tsk.

There are lots of available ORGANIC LIQUID FOLIAR NUTRIENTS SPRAY all over the Philippines, LET US TRY and USE THEM IN OUR FARMS. We are using BLESSINGS PHYTO-NUTRIENTS, an organic liquid Foliar Nutrients Spray in our farms with GOOD RESULTS. The farmer using it did finally paid his debts with his harvests.

It will be much easier to mechanize if only we can find/give other jobs to those who (>30 farmers) will be displaced once we get mechanized. A single man operated harvester, costing about USD 2, 000 to USD 2, 500, which can harvest and bundle 2-3 hactares/day, can easily make 30 farmers/harvesters JOBLESS! What to do with this number of people and their families?

Hi Renan, Your use of color contrasting is much better now. It is easier to read. If I may suggest since you're coming with a 2014 edition, can you use a larger font and maybe try a white or orange color? The color contrasting will be much better, it will also help us older SRI enthusiasts and farmers, with poor eye sights, watching your very awesome, inspiring and beautiful SRI video! Keep up the GOOD WORK! I be using your production whenever I am showcasing SRI to Filipino Farmers in Leyte and Region 13.

Salamat sa iyong post sa You Tube at maraming natutuhan ang ating mga magsasaka sa tamang pamamaraan ng pagtanim ng palay. Ang malaking kakulangan sa atin ay ang Mechnical Transplanters na ginagamit ng mga bansa tulad ng Thailand,Laos, China at Japan. May mga hand-operated transplanters na pueding gawin sa atin; Maging portable rice harvesters ay may ginagamit ang mga mahihirap na magsasaka sa China, tayo lang ang napag-iwanan.

Renan. Thank you sa reaction mo na darker na ang instructions mo. Ang dali na basahin. May mataas na agri officer na tinanong ko if familiar siya sa SRI, he commented "yes". Kaya lang ang sagot niya sa tanong ko why it was not tried as in field trials sa gov't farms (Philrice) ang sagot is hindi conclusive ang study sa SRI dahil ang mga trials na ginawa sa ibang lugar (countries) at dito sa ating bayan ay maliliit (1, 000 sm-3, 400sm) lang. I expected him to answer na "We will try to make a trial in a larger scale, say 1 hactare" pero hindi niya nabigas ang expected ko na answer dahil mag start na ang program na isa siya sa mga guest speakers.
Renan, siguro, you should try to form a group or groups thoughout our country that will plant a trial area of about 1 hactare per location and have it properly documented para "makita" ng DA na hindi na laboratory stage pa ang SRI in the Philippines.
You have been doing this for quite a while so I guess you have already generated a lot of confidence in using the SRI Tech.
I am not a farmer nor a rice land pero gusto ko ring makita na malaki-laki ang harvest ng mga farmers natin para umasenso naman ang bayan. I will try to entice our local agri farmers to try SRI Tech in their respective farms.
