Surprisingly noisy... for some reason i thought they are not that noisy...
-
that is pretty quiet!
-
Ok, noise is hurting, too. But way better than Chernobyl or Fukushima.
-
The wind turbines today are much quieter than they used to be.
-
East Oregon where I live is full of these. I've never heard one up close though. I can see why people oppose them now,
-
You always find the coolest stuff to post on Youtube:)
-
Thank you for this video :) These sorts of windmills are all the rage over here in America, by the way ... And, NONE too soon, too!
-
It's noisy than I've expected.
-
I love this sound :3 I also love taking Japanese Sleeper Trains and listening the the sounds of it while I lay down :3
-
Most of the noise is the transmission, which has to keep the alternator spinning at a given speed to provide electricity. There should also be a faint "swish" sound as the turbine blades pass near the microphone and the air spill off their surfaces reaches the microphone.
The best part of the sound is the lack of petro- or coal- fired generators, since the fuel for both is getting more and more expensive. -
I hate this sound. Got two Wind Turbines 300 meters from my house and on windy days it's terrible.
-
800-850 KW. Nacelle... I Think.
-
Like an old washing machine on it's last legs :(
-
I have seen in Germany, there is s type of large wind generator, that is shaped like DNA. There is very little sound and the wind speeds to get power is under 3 mph. Way more efficient and quieter. I intend to get one of those for home use at some point after I inherit.

on a windy day...
-
24/7 ?
That would be a torture. -
Nuclear Plants are quiet and generate more electricity, hence I prefer them...
Although on the plus side these aren't radioactive if they fail, but i suppose getting one o' them blades through your roof isn't exactly ideal either. -
just fill the area in fukushima with these
-
looks like it would generate alot of electricity!
-
thats euh interesting?
