David Frawley (Vamadeva Shastri) is the recent recipient of the Padma Bhushan award in India. The second highest award anyone can receive. He is the author of more than thirty books on Vedic subjects published in twenty languages over the last thirty years, including original translations from the Vedas and authoritative texts on Yoga, Vedanta, Ayurveda, and Vedic astrology. His work is widely respected in India, where he is honored as an Acharya or master of the Vedic teachings.
