solar philippines and other companies like that worldwide should continue building their power plants. But they should be honest enough to admit it when the percentage of intermittent power sources starts to cause problems, like what happened in china
china stops approving wind power

1/5th of wind farms idle http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-china-windpower-idUKKBN0O20VW20150517 -
intermittent power sources like wind and solar can be used yes. But only up to a certain percentage of the electrical grid. Without cheap storage 2-3 orders of magnitude better than current tech, those technologies require extensive backup. Either hydro, nuclear or fossil fuel
example, this is 1 month of wind power in almost the entirety of europe, from spain to central europe to england and the nordic regions. There are a couple of days and nights with very little wind.

so unless you can guarantee that there will be no non windy nights, the most probable post fossil fuel electricity grid will be a mix of intermittent (solar, wind) and non intermittent (hydro, geothermal, nuclear) power sources
