Shincha, A Japanese Tea Tradition

Shincha is a rare green tea that is from the first tea harvest of the year in Japan. This highly celebrated tea can only be picked within a few days in the Spring. With so many leaves to pick in a short amount of time, tea farmers will often hold an all-night vigil for Shincha. Rarely seen outside Japan, farmer’s shincha has a light flavor with hints of honey and asparagus.
