Sesame Ginger Salad Dressing: Noreen's Kitchen
http://www.noreenskitchen.com Check out my friend Donna on her channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/dylan14570 She is awesome! Greetings! It is salad night. When the weather gets warmer, we love to have a salad night at least once a week. Fresh produce is delicious and abundant this time of year and while none of this came out of our garden, most of it did come from the local farm stand. Farm fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, iceberg and leaf lettuce as well as spinach, peppers and green onions are welcomed at any time, but especially this time of year when they are field fresh and local. I love Asian chicken salad with a sesame ginger dressing. This is one of my favorites. Others include a great Caesar salad, spinach salad with hard cooked eggs and hot bacon dressing as well as the old classic wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing. These salads stand on their own two feet as meals in themselves and you should make salad night a part of your weekly routine. Tonight I seared off several chicken breasts in a hot iron skillet and seasoned them with nothing more than pink salt, cracked pepper and garlic powder. I let them rest while I made the dressings and the salad that we would have for our supper. This dressing is as good, if not better than you will find in sit down restaurants. You can always go buy yourself a bottle of sesame ginger dressing. Have you looked at the price of salad dressing lately? Outrageous for sure! You can make this much better than you can buy it and in many cases, you may already have what you need in the cupboard, you just have to put the ingredients together the right way to achieve the flavors you desire. Ginger, garlic, soy, oil, rice vinegar, sesame oil, agave nectar or sugar and I put a splash of teriyaki sauce in mine to round out the flavors. Make the base and play with it until it tastes good to you. I hope you try this and I hope you love it. Happy Eating! sweet Noreen, she is the salad queen
blasting dressings all up in her blender machine
salads finer than anything i've ever seen
but i can only sit and watch from the other side of a screen -
I was planning on purchasing a sesame ginger dressing from the grocery store, but I think I'll try this recipe since I have all the ingredients on hand. It looks pretty straighforward and I LOVE fresh ginger. This looks really good :D

I used to be subscribed to you and just re-subscribed.I adore ginger and peel it a small paring knife.A spoon for grapefruit ( with teeth ) would work well too.I love bits of ginger on top of my chicken salads and creamy tomato soup. The dressing looks delicious!!!!!

@carolhazel, Since I realized my food allergies are back with a vengence, I've become much more of a carnivore. Don't know why. But meat tastes better now. Maybe its my body trying to capture all the vitamins it can and restore itself. And the good news, I've lost 12 lbs so far. The weight is just melting away.

Noreen, I have a lot of respect for you and what you do. But it's not scientifically true the Vegan or vegetarian lifestyle is an unhealthy way to eat. If you'll do your research you'll find our bodies are by far healthier without the commercially farmed meat & dairy being sold to us today.I'm not here to fight w/ you or anyone else. I just thought you'd enjoy a show idea. Others have given you show requests, & you seem to enjoy a new idea.I didn't mean to get everyone upset by this one request

WOW dmack144, chill out! I only asked Noreen a question. I'm pretty sure it's still okay to ask a person a question in America. Noreen told me her feelings on the subject and that's okay. She sure doesn't need a PITTBULL to attack people on her behalf. Dang! Can't anyone ask a question without people coming unglued? I'm sure Noreen will keep cooking the way she enjoys, and I'll keep watching her b/c I enjoy her energy.

I agree with you. I don't expect Noreen to turn Vegan and prepare only Vegan meals. I was just asking her if she would do ONE video with a Vegan or Vegetarian meal. Clearly she's not comfortable with that, & that's fine with me. I am actually a Diabetic & a Vegetarian (& part time Vegan) so must of the foods she prepares I can't eat, but that's alright. I still enjoy her videos, b/c she's straight up honest & totally herself, not trying very hard to impress anyone. I find that very refreshing.

Great idea! I have tahini in the fridge. I didn't even think to use it. I will next time!

I don't think that she was voicing a nasty opinion at all, simply one that is scientifically true. BTW if you want a better nutritional yeast, you really should try Braggs. It is delicious and organic. I use it for myself, as well as my animals. It is wonderful over popcorn. I have to personally agree with Katz. I don't think that a vegan lifestyle is especially healthy. We are animals we need long muscle meat to survive and thrive.

I would say this will keep for up to two weeks. Ours only lasted a few days because we just finished it tonight for supper. Thanks for watching and commenting! Noreen ; )

All of this vegan talk is making me crazy! Noreen and Katzcradul put tons of time and thought into these videos. They make the things that their families enjoy and share the making with us out of the goodness of their hearts. Good grief Carol if you want to view vegan videos go to a vegan channel. It is extremely rude of you to ask and expect these ladies to make food they do not enjoy and video tape the making of it for you. Keep doing what you’re doing ladies, I for one really appreciate you!

Your original post hit a nerve. Noreen's a friend of mine. Her frustration is similar to mine when people ask us to make videos we're not really interested in making. Everyone has the right to live any lifestyle they chose, so long as it doesn't infringe on another person's rights. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I've had to sort out this vegan thing using the Bible (KJV). In Genesis 3:21, God made clothing for Adam & Eve from animal skins. I don't suppose he let the meat go to waste.

Looks so good, I will certainly be making this one, in case I missed it in the video, how long does this store in the fridge? Thanks again for posting.

@carolhazel, I have food allergies and I don't expect Noreen to stop using dairy, wheat, nuts, peanuts, or eggs in her dishes. I try and figure out if I can change them on my own. If I can't, I just enjoy those watching her fix them anyway.

I agree with you about the corporate farms. But I have actually watched animals being butchered. When wild game is caught and dressed, a proper hunter respects the animal. There is nothing wrong with that. The Native Americans are very respectful of their kill. I appreciate everyone's choice to lead what ever lifestyle they like. I simply don't agree that vegetarian or vegan diets are fully nutritional. I have BTW made meatless meals.
