Ropai In Nepal, Rice Cultivation, Paddy Cultivation, Pokhara Ropai
Ropai means paddy or rice cultivation. It is done in Asar ( June/July) month and is celebrated as a festival. The villagers come together in one hub and help each other in cultivation. Rice is the main cereal crop of Nepal and it is cultivated when there is enough water in the field. The above video features the ropai of the villagers of Kavre, Pokhara. The young girls and boys of the village play by splashing the muddy water at each other. It's fun to watch this event. Pokharacity.com coverage
