Rice production expected to double after construction of Thiba dam

Rice production at the Mwea Irrigation scheme in Kirinyaga County is expected to double after the construction of a Mega dam . The Thiba dam which is being put up by the National irrigation Board is expected to improve the reliability of irrigation water and also increase the area under irrigation in the scheme.
