The most centralized planned economy in the world, China, recovered most rapidly from the 2008 Depression. China sent all unemployed people, cause by the collapse of the Chinese plants manufacturing for Walmart, back to work at the huge national farm communes, just in time for the Spring 2009 planting. Smart move. This gave China a huge surplus of broccoli, fish & fruit in 2010. Plus it prevented a crime wave by the unemployed, like the ones sweeping Brazil, Europe & US. Chinese communal farms provide good housing, collective dinning halls, free education, free health care, lots of fresh air, exercise & a safe place to raise children. China did all this between 1949 & 1989. The best law they passed, was one child per family every 10 years. Next they built rail service from Peking to Moscow. The train has run every day since 1955. Chinas military budget is 1% of their GNP. Their army does not invade foreign countries. Even during Vietnam, the most China did was sell bikes, guns & rice, very cheap to Vietnam America needs to have a law that forces all unemployed people to work 5 days a week on collective farms. This will prevent crime, Depression, & poverty & gangs. America is being buried, by economies with centralized plans, as was predicted in 1961. By 2013 China, Cuba, Venezuela, Russia & the whole socialist bloc will be equal in power to the US. Drones kill civilians 60% of the time. Bring the troops home by Christmas. Here are 5 things that can be done to stop this Depression. 1 - Stop the Afghan war! 2 - Stop printing paper money for goods we don't have. When JFK was faced with a similar crisis, he printed $ billions of dollars worth of Silver Certificates -- not fake federal Reserve notes, paper money. We must abolish the "Fed" Reserve by printing Silver Certificates just like JFK did.. 2 - Businesses need to start building 1 million new solar berm houses each year. Making real goods. This will make real things, & free us from coal & oil addiction. Only by making hard, sellable goods, can we rebuild our economy. All the present housing is obsolete because it keeps us addicted to coal & oil. 3 - Cut all spending in Afghanistan, Iraq & Israel. 4 - Raise taxes on the 2/3 of the corporations, who now pay NO taxes. According to the NYT, 2/3 of all US based corporations pay no taxes. None. As in zero. 5 - Raise taxes on tobacco, legalize & tax Pot. This will save half the costs we waste on prisons, since most people in prison are there for Marijuana violations. Which state will legalize pot first? Right now the states closest to legalization are: #1 Hawaii #2 Alaska #3 Oregon #4 Nevada #5 Georgia #6 California #7 Idaho #8 Montana #9 Kansas #10 Arizona #11 Florida #12 Virginia #13 Vermont #14 Pennsylvania Which one will pass legalization first? 6- Build a mass movement of people marching in the streets, raising these 7 demands. We must build a socialist system to protect the people from the corporations. 7 - Invest in liquid colloidal silver. This is the best medicine against cancer, swine flu & many diseases. If you want Single Payer, you first must be responsible enough to invest in your own health, by taking care of yourself. Take 2 grams of vitamin C hourly. Can you suggest one more thing? Solar panel house products would easily be out sourced to China. If you think non grid power is the most efficent by the way.. you are very wrong.. every 8 years you have to replace batteries... 1/4 of your solar set up cost... ummm... you need to look at made in $%#@& on most large cell batteries you buy..

I always find comments like this funny. There is no economy in my model, everything is self-sustaining. I know how to set this all up and nobody wants to listen. We have reached a level of tech that will allow this now, and people keep missing this reality. Trade can still exist for things that someone made special for you or that are in limited supply, but basic needs can be taken care of with minimal effort. No Soviet style apts either, I'm talking about grand beautiful public works.

Paul, you can't just build houses that are powered by solar. You have to consider industry as well. Not all factories can be built on south facing hills. Solar isn't strong in different areas of the country as well. Some areas will have to send it to other areas as an export. I'm not a big fan of wind either. I'm not a big fan of this economy as well. I believe a cooperative society with proper infrastructure and a citizenry educated to use it is the way to go. Less jobs, not more, no slavery.

You are right. Would you be willing to RUN for office, to call for issuing new SILVER certificates to get rid of the Federal Reserve. We must all run for office.

I like the way you think, Mr. Kangas--you made several valid points, on several different issues. I think America needs a socialist health care system, like we have in Canada, because many Americans, especially now, are losing their savings and their houses, due to a semi-serious illness, because their HMOs won't cover them! HMOs are a multi-billion dollar industry that provides nothing! The biggest problem with America, is the kowtowing to big business: Monsanto, big oil, big pharma, etc.

Obama could win the heroin war in Afghanistan, to take over the world heroin trade. In 1971 the US CIA decided they could take over the socialist government of Afghanistan. It was the CIA who defeated the Russians, using suicide prone heroin addicts they found in Afghanistan. Instead, we need to help Russia to integrate Afghanistan back into the Russian Union. This form of cooperation between the US & the USSR is necessary to liberate the women of Afghanistan.

If the US wants to stop the 17% inflation that will hit the US by November 09, the US will have to stop all war spending. Stop all foreign aid to Israel. Raise taxes on the top 100 corporation, that now pay NO taxes. Build 1 million new solar powered houses.

The bank controlled media refuses to call it what it is: a Depression. Only Peter Schiff is revealing the truth of how the Pentagon caused this Depression. The Afghan war is going to make the Depression worse.
