Bringing some early mid-century furniture back to life. Find out more about this project and a few extra tips on our build log at the link below. http://nelsonstudios.blogspot.com/2013/09/country-chic-furniture.html I pulled this hutch off a farm's burn pile. It was in rough shape but a day;s hard work saw it back in fighting form. in this video I show how I took a hutch on the borderline and brought it back enough to make it a valuable and salable piece. When you are not doing the work for yourself but rather for resale there are some tips, tricks and cautionary limitations I can offer you from years of doing this sort of restoration work.

$50 is way fair as I dont think I would have given them that much for the trash they showed was worthless to them. But that proves your a better person then me.

When I have really warped pieces of wood I want to save, I soak them in cool water in a barrel for a day, then sit them out in the sun on a perfectly flat surface with bricks and stuff stacked on top of them. Most of the time they flatten enough that light sanding will get them to fit.
