Quick IQ Test
Poking fun at the USDA for claiming Rabbits are Poultry. Please help by signing petition: (Please sign these petitions) http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/rabbits-are-poultry-well-then-poultry-needs-to-be-covered-under-the-1958-humane-slaughters-act http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/help-secure-basic-protection-for-billions-of-birds-sign-the-petition-for-poultry Please help try to create change in the way Rabbits are viewed-they are "pets" just like cats & dogs are for some people. If people are going to continue to eat them, at least they should be covered under the 1958 HUMANE SLAUGHTERS ACT like other "livestock". All animals deserve to be treated with decency before they are killed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VFG5fQHMro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkauGHxP-Uo Dictionary: poultry (pōl'trē) pronunciation n. Domestic fowls, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, or geese, raised for meat or eggs. Poultry: Columbia Encyclopedia: poultry, domesticated fowl kept primarily for meat and eggs; including birds of the order Galliformes, e.g., the chicken, turkey, guinea fowl, pheasant, quail, and peacock; and natatorial (swimming) birds, e.g., the duck and goose. Several poultry birds, including the chicken and the goose, were domesticated over 3,000 years ago. The chief poultry bird is the chicken, which probably originated as a jungle fowl in SW Asia. Until recently, poultry were raised for domestic and commercial use on many farms in the United States. Large-scale producers now virtually monopolize the poultry industry. Specialized hatcheries deliver chicks fresh from the incubator to commercial growers, who mass-produce birds under precisely controlled conditions on diets scientifically calculated to produce rapid growth to market size, for delivery to processors. Many distinct chicken breeds, once appreciated for their particular combinations of characteristics, have been combined through selective breeding into a few relatively standard types that are notably efficient converters of feed into meat or eggs. The dominant meat chicken today is a cross between the fast-growing female White Plymouth Rock chicken, and the deep-breasted male Cornish chicken (see Cornish hen). The predominant egg type in the United States today is the White Leghorn chicken. Dual-purpose meat-and-egg breeds have all but disappeared. Turkeys have been similarly standardized. Because of their lower cost and lower fat content, chicken and turkey are increasingly popular protein sources with American consumers, rivaling pork and even beef in per capita consumption. A few breeds of chicken are raised chiefly for their ornamental appearance or as pets. These include the Polish varieties, characterized by their large showy crests; the fighting, or game, varieties, still bred where cockfighting is popular; and the Bantams, which are primarily miniature counterparts of standard breeds.

Has noone ever noticed the huge flapping wings rabbits fly around with??? Am I really the onlyone to see flocks of rabbits flying to the south in x-formation??? How the hell did you think rabbits came off Rapa Nui in the first place??? not by swimming, because as the only one in the poultry family...rabbits can't swim!!! ( I tried teaching them...) LOL LOL LOL
-
YOU LIED!!!! rabits do lay eggs!!! explain the easter bunny!!! jk jk jk lol :D
-
I didn't know that rabbit meat was classified as poultry, but the first time that i ate rabbit meat i thought it WAS chicken...it tastes like poultry, so it makes sense. You obviously don't know what rabbit MEAT tastes like, so i can see why you are confused. You have a Disney influenced view of animals and think that because a rabbit has big eyes and fur that they aren't edible...guess what honey...theres some good MEAT under that fur! try it as a stew...YUMMY!

You spelled your name wrong. it's Anus.

lampoonatic--Let me make this perfectly clear. (in law) animals are PROPERTY. like a couch, like a car. Now I am going slow so you can keep up. You can SELL your dog/cat/horse/bird/bunny. You can crop his tail, ears, confine him, pick his mate, sell his children, and if he gets sick, you and your vet, can end his life. He has NO vote on anything you do to him. Again you want to argue property rights.I choose to treat my animals well. Then butcher and eat them. You dont get a vote.
-
you seem to be a bit angry. Why at me? My comment? read it and tell me where I stated that animal rights are addressed in the Constitution or its amendments. Do you have some special gift that allows you extra insight into what the founding fathers "knew". Settle down. No need to call me ignorant or stupid. Often the use of insulting language is merely projection of undesirable qualities an insecure person recognizes in their self. Good luck.
-
Sent you some of what you need
-
They should take all you animal rights advocates and grind you into hog feed, What a waste of oxygen you all are. Ignorant? lampoonatic you are the epitome of ignorance and stupidity. The founding fathers knew what the use of animals should be. Bill of Rights. ever heard of it? Read it and tell me where the rights of animal are addressed. Don't be such a idiot.
-
you would think there was a better part of the duck to eat..... lol
-
biteyourself-the U.S. Constitution is a document that provides the framework for govt. It does define our rights as humans -but it does not deny the rights of animals...and in fact does not have the authority to do so. Expand your sphere of knowledge. As far as why the FDA would be so ignorant...It is because they are fowl!
