Protected vegetable cropping in the Visayas, Philippines.
With drenching rain and typhoons for over half the year, growing healthy vegetable crops in the Visayas region of the Philippines is a real challenge. Now farmers are building low cost protected cropping structures that allow them to grow crops in the wet season. The system was tested through an ACIAR project and is now being adopted more widely.
