In China more than 500 million people use contaminated water by human and industrial waste as their main resource. funny you mentioned color i was at these woods here in ohio once (many years ago try 30) and I was waiting for my brother by this apple tree, I was going to pick some apples and then I noticed the water nearby was a bright orange, I was like whaaaaat! never did eat any of those apples. why orange? I have no idea, there was no factories around there that I knew of.

yes they did many of the factories and mines (if i have correct understanding) were privatly owned nad thus the owners didn't want polluted water or air either as they lived there too (as opposed toglobalists who live elsewhere to where their corp are polluting everything) so they were just as interested in reducing pollution to and avoiding lawsuits and bad publicity that would hurt their business.they came up with cleaner coal, scrubbers and sewer treatments etc.

The real topic is, How did Britain rise its empire, 1. Industrial revolution (pretty much what china is doing now). 2. Stealing/robbing other people's stuff (what US is doing now), Britain first handed demonstrated that it works, and now in the name of pollution, you want others to stop, you're having a laugh, though I do think the pollution can be reduced if there's a bit less corruption (its everywhere btw, not just China), and the punishment/penalty is more severe.

The Thames was never that colour. The Brown/Red colour of this river comes from Iron oxide which is natural for a river flowing though iron rich areas. The real pollution in this river is the stuff you can't see. The Thames pollution was mainly sewage and rubbish.

They don't see it as a mistake, they se it as THE route to success, they know it,they use pollution as an excuse to try and stop others from doing it. to the US government, Pollution count as acceptable loses.

You seemed to have forgotten this is what US and UK is doing in the last few decades and only recently stopped. the thames of london used to be the exact same colour.
