Hey john, been watching your videos for sometime now. Just never knew how to comment. I enjoy the vids. My profile pic is my first garden. Things are a lil over crowded but I did it.
-
Great video! Thanks.

amaranth is probably a more realistic plant for the majority of us vs quinoa, quinoa really only like high altitudes and cooler/lower temperatures.
-
wikipedia while a great source for a lot of things not so much for wild edibles. look up eattheweeds channel on youtube or his website. nightshade are very edible, just as long as you actually have a nightshade and not a look alike.
-
So, John, have you tried the Ashitaba?
-
But he didn't say creeping false holly; he said black nightshade (Poison) and deadly nightshade (One of the most poisonous plants in the world.)
-
Dude, black nightshade (Solanum Americanum) is poisonous and is deadly to children, but worse still is that someone will likely confuse black nightshade with deadly nightshade(Atropa Belladona)Which is about as poisonous as poison gets, a single leaf being enough to kill a full grown adult. All parts of these plants are poisonous. The roots usually contain the most poison, but the berries account for more deaths because they look attractive and taste sweet. Please remove this before someone dies.
-
@growingyourgreens Apparently long term use of yacon leaves as a tea caused liver damage in rats according to a brazilian study published in some portuguese journal, maybe we should warn the people john. I also hear ashitaba is known for its b12 content. I live in Peru is it possible to order ashitaba?

oddball question: If i were to seedball an area with marijuana, what other seeds could i put into the ball to benefit?
-
agreed, but he does stress the fact to do your own research
-
i'm surprised they didn't have hemp plants. I did a school project on it and you wouldn't believe how healthy and beneficial this plant can be. it's really a shame it gets corrupted, laughed at, and confused with marijuana. It's a sad world we live in where we can't by these plants but we can buy prescription pills where people OD on all the time.

Also on the meat thing, meat is a very important part of the human diet. We evolved the way we are today specifically to run a hunt down game animals. that's why we lost our fur is so we could perspire and out run any animal in the heat of the day. And it was because of the large amount of calories in meat and fat that we could sit around most of the day and socialize and create the big brains we enjoy today. That is not to say that we should only eat meat or even mainly eat meat.
-
The neanderthals were strict carnivores and that's why they became extinct. It is very important to balance our diet and the problem with today's diet is that there is way to much meat. Really it should only count for about 10-25% of the total calories we consume.
-
JOHN THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: deadly night shade is very very very posinous. look it up on wikipedia I don't know what that person is talking about by saying it is eaten by millions because it definitely is not. please take down that part of your video as to people might be dumb enough to try some and die.
-
My oca tubers just arrived a few hours ago. Can't wait until spring :D
-
Hi John, just looking for info in your old videos. I was wondering though, can you eat oca raw?
-
@sammy40191 i love meat, and if we ate the animal when it died it would be great - but we dont. we kill them and thats what a lot of people are against it. we slaughter millions of animals and a lot of that meat goes to waste because not everyone can afford the meat. Also, I dont like eating mamals because, well.. its a little too close to home for me. I don't mind eating birds and seafood though! I consider myself a soldier on the avian/aquatic battle front.
-
O and I meant that with much respect, I watch all your videos, and your a cool guy, but meat is not bad, and you would have a stronger figure if you ate meat
-
Jesus ate meat, and everybody should unless don't like the taste, would you want a cow to die and it's meat go to waste because people went vegan? Or the cow die and it's meat feeds many? Something else to think about John. I love meat and will never stop eating it, and I love fruit and veggies too
