Phu Quoc Island - Viet Nam's Largest Island
Phu Quoc is famous for its two traditional products: fish sauce and black pepper. The rich fishing grounds offshore provides the anchovy catch from which the prized sauce is made. Pepper cultivation is located inland in the center of the island. More recently a pearl farm was established. Try to get out on a boat one evening for some squid fishing yourself. Make a visit to Phu Quoc National Park and swim in a quiet pool. http://www.vietnamtourism.org.vn

The Phu-Quoc island are Vietnamese, they will always be Vietnamese. No matter what Cambodia thinks.Of course, it's not just Vietnam that says this, but International law. The United Nations according to it's security agreements with Vietnam will have to defend these Islands against Cambodia. We all know that means bye bye..Cambodian forever.. August,30-2013. Vince Ng.

This Island was the site of US Radar facility, a US/Vietnamese operated POW camp and a District Headquarters for MACV during the Vietnam. It was governed by a Vietnamese District Commander, who during my time there was Lieutenant Commander(Tueta) named Hoa. What happened between 1970 and the 1980's I do not know. But as far as I can determine it had been a possession of Vietnam up until the end of our involvement in the war.... and the home of the best Nuoc Mam in the world.

To all everyone who views this, plz know the truth, Vietnam invaded and took this island from Cambodia during 1980s while Cambodia was still under unstable situation after Khmer Rouge had just ended in 1979, i wish one day Cambodia will get it back to Khmer people again. The original name is Tral island.
