A candid blog about an effective method for composting grasses and herbs, tested in practice. Grasses grow everywhere. You can use them good:

Am I the only one in Florida that has a Squirrel Problem? These little buggers are carrying us off!
We get the most beautiful blooms on out fruit trees.. Then see the fruit come out.. grow.. And before anything can even think about ripening .. It all starts disappearing slowly and before I know it.. No more fruit! My Pears.. My Plums AND my Peaches! -
I have a fig tree that is a few years old but she has only fruited once......one fig. Any suggestions? Tree looks real healthy, lots of beautiful leaves, no fruit. Help......

Stand your shitaki mushroom logs at 80 degree slope (almost verticle), one log space between them.

Wonderful video, Thanks :)

Great job Val and Johnny! Tim's farm is about the best combination of all the permaculture principles I've seen and want to emulate. I'm not sure just what the permaculture definition formally includes, but specific concepts such as cob/natural building, rocket stoves, aquaponics are also superb elements that should be incorporated whenever possible. Absolutely wonderful effort by all of you. Thank you.

Lots of good information for North Florida, thanks!

What am amazing video! I first saw Val on a video that John Kohler did about her chop and drop technique filmed at her home. I never knew about this before-I was so impressed with her knowledge base! This is now the third video I have seen her in, and I continue to be impressed with all she knows and the information she brings through guests-what an amazing video!! I learned a lot!

Very nice. Seen the tons of people who are unemployed right now in western countries, seen the plastic waste that's wasted everywhere, seen all the knowledge we have know about herbivore nature of people's physiology, seen the dramatic bad health statistics of every western country, seen what the energy of plant do with people, etc., permaculture is the way to go.
We can survive, but we need to follow this kind of people with concrete actions.
We don't need Bush, Kissinger, Nixon, Rumsfeld, Oranje and similar psychopaths. They need us though. Neglect them, and restore the Earth from our horrible actions. -
Interesting video! I would LOVE to take my kids & visit the farm this summer! Thanks for sharing! :)
